About Bettina Scarlett...
I have always had a love for era's gone by. For as long as I can remember, I would watch the old MGM musicals of the 1940s and 50s with my mum and grandmother. I always wished I could look as glamorous as the ladies on screen and yearned to have dresses as beautiful as theirs. My brother and I were brought up with the music of the 1950s from rhythm and blues, doo wop, rockabilly and rock n roll. The 1950s is an era that has most certainly always been in my blood.
During my late teens and early twenties I looked up to the likes of Marilyn, Jayne and Bettie and decided to become a pin up model. I didn't do too badly, however I never really saw it as the career path for me, posing for pictures was more of a hobby. It kept me entertained during my years at university where I studied Fashion Promotion at UCA Rochester. Whilst studying I gained skills including styling, journalism, film, event management and of course promotion. During my final year, I co - organised a vintage inspired fashion show held at Proud Cabaret in London, I felt this was the point where I was creating an exciting career path for myself. Finally in 2012 I graduated with a BA (hons) second class upper division and moved to London.
Since then I have decided to put Pin up modelling behind me and concentrate on Bettina Scarlett presents. A project I started after co ordinating the Vintage Fashion Revue at the 17th Rockabilly Rave in 2013. Bettina Scarlett Presents focuses on promoting niche & handmade brands to a wider target market to help increase profit margins and general brand awareness. This can be done through a wide range of services and packages to suit each client’s individual needs whether it is through a product launch or a photographic shoot. Whatever your brief may be, get in touch and we can set up a bespoke package for you.
